Pakistan

Pakistan

Two months ago I visited Pakistan with my family for two weeks. We stayed in a lovely resort that use to be a palace. The first few days we visited Lahore where we got to see the tower of independence ‘Minar-e-Pakistan’, along with Lahore fort that was constructed by the Mughal emperors. We also got to see many mosques and temples that were constructed in that time period. For the last few days we visited the northern side that had many beautiful lakes as well as the world’s second highest mountain K-2.

Portugal

Portugal

I spent my week in Portugal. Oh what a beautiful country it is. I had the privilege of visiting Sintra to see the beautiful palaces and gardens such as Pena Palace, Moorish Castle (Castelo dos Mouros), Quinta da Regaleira, Monserrate Palace and National Palace of Sintra (Palacio Nacional). Praia da Bordeira was another great sight to see. FYI, if you go to Alfama do take a map with you as the narrow alley ways are very hard to navigate.

Australia

Australia

What an absolute beauty! I travelled Australia by road over the last month and I must say no other sights compare. From the red sand deserts in the middle of Australia to the great barrier reef in Queensland, every sight was breathtaking. The beaches in this country are absolutely amazing however make sure you listen to the lifeguards as the waves are crazy. Got to tick visiting Bondi beach and Gold coast off my bucket list. If you haven’t seen Uluru then definitely go see it, also I highly recommend scuba diving at the great barrier reef.

Croatia

Croatia

Croatia had always been on the top of my bucket list as I am a big Game of Thrones fan, and what better way to feed my nerdy obsession by visiting the actual place that Kings Landing was shot at. Yes, that’s right! Kings Landing is an actual place and that place is called Dubrovnik. Located at the southern tip of Croatia off the Adriatic Sea. I also visited other cities such as Hvar, Split, Pula and Rovinj while I was in Croatia. Also highly recommended having a visit to Plitvice National Park. The waterfalls there are amazing.

Which destination would you like to travel to?

India

India

I just got back from a vacation in India and let me tell you what a stunning, vibrant country it is. We started off the vacation by visiting one of the seven wonders of the world which is the Taj Mahal. The palace was built by a Mughal emperor for his wife, and it is absolutely captivating. However, if you want a picture in front of the taj mahal like you see on social media then I suggest going early at sunrise as after that the palace gets very busy. After seeing the taj mahal I got inspired to see other Mughal architectures such as Agra Fort and Allahabad Fort.

Germany

Germany

Germany is home to beautiful architecture such as Neuschwanstein Castle, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, Berlin Cathedral, Cologne cathedral, etc. Visiting these sights is like being teleported into a different world. Neuschwanstein Castle had always been at the top of my bucket list and let me tell you it was worth the anticipation. There are also several sights that are related to the world wars that you can visit such as the holocaust memorial, checkpoint Charlie and east side gallery.

Denmark

Denmark

While backpacking in Denmark I got to visit many beautiful cities such as Skagen, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Bornholm, Aalborg, etc. But my favourite city out of them all was Elsinore as it is home to Kronborg Slot, a renaissance castle that is world famous for being in William Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’. I also got to visit Ocean beach, West Cape Howe, Monkey Rock and Elephant Rocks. All of them were lovely.

Greece

Greece

I spent my last two weeks in Greece. I landed in Athens on Friday and was stunned by how gorgeous the historical city is. Looking down at the city from Acropolis of Athens was a sight to behold. I spent the next few days on the Greek islands of Santorini, Corfu and Mykonos. The white houses with blue roofs looked so beautiful in Santorini, especially at sunset. However, I must warn you as due it being a popular attraction finding anywhere to stand at sunset will be a hard endeavor. So do plan for it ahead of time.
